Default Mbox 2, Mountain Lion & PT 10.3?

I'm trying to get confirmation that my new Mac (running mountain lion, 16 ram) and my Mbox2 will work with a cross grade up to PT 10.3. I've read everything from Mbox2 will not work w/PT 10 or mountain lion to it will, but there's drivers that will have to be removed, to it's a total crapshoot. I'd like to hear hear from someone who's been thru this before I drop the $$$. Thanks for any advice-

I expect that a DIGI 001 will work with OSX10.8 with a tower with a PCI slot and LOGIC installed. Perhaps even an Audiomedia III card would work in OSX10.8 and LOGIC.

But

When it comes to Digi/Avid and Pro Tools the lifeline compatibility is usually a lot less.........

It's no wonder that OSX users are now having multiple boots (10.6/10.7/10.8) on systems in order to not have to buy new versions of APPs when windoze users are not confined by OS update compatibility in such a harsh manner. You can buy a new HD or partition for less than a program costs nowadays.

The difficulty will be trying to install OSX 10.6 on a new mac that Apple will not allow to be 'downgraded'. That's probably why the 'Hack Pro' DAW community is growing so rapidly....

I bit the bullet and installed Mountain Lion on a Mid 2007 iMac with MBox 2 - After seeing the Mbox-2-Drivers page.

After Mountain Lion install - I reinstalled the driver from here http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...Mbox-2-Drivers
before plugging in Mbox 2.

It seems to be working fine - I have not checked the Midi -

It makes a slight crack sound when starting or stopping a track in Logic Express.
