Default quicktime and mp4 import to Pro tools

Hi , I am a mixing engineer from HK. Just wants to ask anybody know....

01. If i import a movie (Quicktime movie or Mp4) and its audio into a pro tools sessions , is audio already sample accurate Sync to movie ( everything same as Movie itself) ?

02. If NO, is there any standard steps that i need to do ( like shift forward or backward a suggested length in frames or samples )

Many Thanks!!!

No problem importing either. The audio is indeed sample accurate. However, these formats and other h264 variants can be a pain to work with in PT. Most times you are better off transcoding them to a format such as DNxHD or Apple Prores.
