Default Software updater checks for updates even though the "DO Not Check for Updates..." box

Recently wiped my whole system and reinstalled OS 10.8.5 and Pt 10.3.7.

Every time PT launches, it comes up with the software updater dialog and says no new updates available (it should really say that there are updates available, but that's not the point of the question).

I have checked the box that says something like "Do Not check for updates on PT Launch" (or something to that affect). But it still comes up every time we launch PT. It even comes up with that box already checked!

It's more of an annoyance than a performance issue obviously, but how can I make that window not show up on PT launch?

Check the /Library/LaunchAgents or the /Library/LaunchDaemons folders. If you find it in one of those, you can move it out or trash it if you never want it to run again.

I went through this sometime back and actually found not one but two Avid software updater programs. Deleted both and is okay now.
