You're not alone.
There have been lots of reports of PT licenses randomly disappearing and showing up again, with or without help from Avid. I had my 3rd in a few weeks just last night. This time, luckily it lasted for not longer than a few minutes. Something is seriously wrong. (I have iLok Cloud.)


Please help, Pro tools stoped working!


Installed 2020.11 and iLok license disappeared...


Avid Link server down?

No definitive reason given for the issue, but in my case, it appeared that possibly I had never activated my perpetual bundle license from 4 years ago. Not sure that had anything to do with it though.

Jeffro deposited a new Perpetual License to replace the one that was in my iLok account that wasn't allowing the surrender and transfer.

Default License Disappeared (Yet Another)

Hi Guys
I renewed my Pro Tools subscription 2 weeks ago, and activated on the AVID site on Nov 12. Downloaded the PT 2020.11 update the next day, and used the software with no issues for a week. This morning I attempted to open and a pop up window appeared with the following dialog:

You don't have any licenses in your account, or none of the licenses there have any subscriptions available. If you have an iLok USB device with a license activated on it, please plug it in now.

You do not have any pending deliveries for the license(s) you need to authorize the software.

Click here if you need to purchase a license for Pro Tools Perpetual.
Note: I do NOT own PT Perpetual. Just a normal subscription.
I opened my iLok license manager, and lo and behold, it said my license had expired. Went to the iLok website, but that didn't offer me any solutions.
This left me no option but to click the quit button...and watch the PT splash screen disappear. I'm stuck, and baffled at the same time.

Having the exact same issue here. Pro Tools will not open as of this morning. I renewed my subscription on Nov 12, and downloaded and installed the 2020.11 update a day later. Everything was working without issues as of last week. I tried opening PT this morning and got a pop-up reading as follows:

Since I don't own PT Perpetual, there was no point clicking. Then, I checked my iLok manager, and what do you know? My subscription never updated - showing that it lapsed on Nov 14. I don't have an activation code for the iLok, so there's nothing I can do to fix this mess without assistance.
I opened a support ticket with Avid (case 04062800), no response as of this evening.

Hi Jeffro, I'm having the same or very similar issue. I started a case last night. But just in case you see this message and know what the issue could be before support does I'd appreciate the help.

Updated from 2019.12 to 2020.11. Wouldn't launch with the missing activation window. Checked iLok Manager and everything looks OK. Updated ILM just in case but no change. Everything worked fine an hour before on 2019.12. PT Ultimate perpetual license with current support plan.
