Default P67 i7 2600 vs X58 i7 950 build

Hey there,

Anybody put together a stable P67 i7 2600 build for PT9.0? Any issues? Would you recommend it over a i7 X58 950 build?

Thx

Similar to chdrummer, I can't say much about the i7 950 but my 2600 runs great, seems to be more bang for the buck when I compared total cost of system builds, but theres more support around here for the tried and true 950s

FWIU, the computer specs for PT are same as they are for Avid's Media Composer. I do know that for MC, the X58 chipset is recommended over the P67. I believe it has do w/ something about P67 sharing PCI lanes where the X58 does not.

But in video those slots can fill up pretty quickly with high bandwidth cards. That might not be so much the case for a DAWS.

You mean LGA1155 (Socket H2) as Land Grid Array 1155 replaces LGA 1156 (Socket H).
