Default mixer meter not responding to fader

Hi, I have a probably very stupid question, but I am new to Pro Tools (LE 8.0.1), I am coming from Cubase 5.

When I am mixing my audio tracks and move the faders the volume goes up and down according ot the fader, but the meter (to the right of the fader) does not change and still shows the "input signal" from the track. Even if I mute a track the meter keeps on dancing.

Only the master fader works the way I am expecting.

Where can I change the setting to have the actual track output shown in the meter?

In the menu-options-pre/post fader metering. Page 59 of menus guide.

Just be careful when post-fader metering. If you have the fader down below 0, you may be clipping and not be able to see it on the meter. The point of pre-fader metering is to be able to keep an eye on all of your levels, no matter your fader position

Thanks again. It's cool to be able to switch post/pre.
