Default Auto splice by volume?

Hello, is there anything that can detect when the volume drops on a clip to a specified dB, then adds an edit, and then when the volume raises to a specified volume adds an edit?

I’m using Defaulter to auto adjust clip gain, but there is too much dynamic range within some clips, so Defaulter ends up averaging too much or too little.

What exactly are you needing something like that for?

I know there are plugins from waves that will adjust volume in the plugin, but not the audio.

Sometimes it is just easier to use clip gain and do it manually.

I’m using Defaulter to automatically get my clip gain close. It does a pretty good job. However, I still have to manually splice words or phrases, if there is too much dynamic range in a clip. Otherwise Defaulter average too much or too little, and the clip is too loud or too quiet.

If we can tap to transients, strip silence, quantize beats, we should be able to set volume thresholds to add edits.

Manually riding faders, or physically splicing edits and manually adjusting clip gain (even with keystrokes), shouldn’t be necessary just to even out dialogue in this age of AI.

WaveRider and other Plug Ins can write automation post fader, but I’m trying to even things out before they hit the compressor.

This is called mixing but if you want a “normalizer” plug-in, use the stock one or go to Waves MV2 or Soundradix Powair.

These don’t splice but you don’t need to splice.
