Default Pro Tools SE / Fast Track Ultra 8R - Please Help

I'm using Pro Tools SE, which came in the box with my Fast Track Ultra 8R by M-Audio. I'm recording drums, and trying to record multiple tracks at the same time. I have no trouble recording with one mic, but I'm not sure how to get all 8 inputs recording at the same time. I have 3 mics plugged in, but the mic in input 1 is the only mic being picked up. Thanks for any help, I can't wait to hear the full kit!

According to this, SE can only record 2 tracks at a time. Upgrading to M-Powered will open a whole lot of potential

That's got to be the dumbest thing - here's a nice interface with a ton of inputs, but don't use the software we give you as you can only use 2 of them at a time.

PT MP9 is worth the $99 without a doubt.

It's the same with the ProFire 2626/Pro Tools MP combination. 26 inputs on the 2626, but only 18 inputs is supported by Pro Tools MP. If avid raises the number of inputs in MP, they have to raise the number of inputs in Pro Tools and that will annoy the HD/HDX users, who have paid a lot of money for their inputs. That's one of the reasons why avid cannot commit fully to the mid/entry level segment. It all ends up in illogical limitations of numbers of this and that in order to avoid offending customers in the higher segments.
