Volume is very quiet when I export the audio to iTunes, etc.
Hello! I just bought this software on Saturday and have had a tough time figuring all this out. I have everything I want recorded and it sounds awesome in the Pro-Tools software. However, once I export the audio to a .wav file and import it into iTunes, the volume is very quiet. I can hardly hear the bass, and nothing seems to help. I've tried adding compressors, as suggested to me by a friend, and that didn't help either. I'm sure there's some quick fix that I'm just not thinking of. If anyone could help me, that would be great!

Re: Volume is very quiet when I export the audio to iTunes, etc.
When you are ready to export your audio, make sure that the Master Track fader is set at 0dB (about 7/8ths of the way up), and that the meters next to the fader are showing a reasonable level. Additionally, try using a Limiter across the master bus or loading one of the Master Track Presets.
If you are using the USB Micro interface, you may want to disconnect your headphones / speakers before performing the export as this as the device does not have a separate volume control.

Okay, I did all that. The volume overall is slightly louder, but I still can hardly hear the bass.
Any ideas? |

Re: Volume is very quiet when I export the audio to iTunes, etc.
Can I just clarify that the problem you are having is that the mix sounds different when you export the file compared to when you play it back in Pro Tools SE? Thanks and apologies for the confusion on my part.

Yes. It is both quieter and the bass is virtually nonexistent. No problem though, hope this helps

Re: Volume is very quiet when I export the audio to iTunes, etc.
Can you try dragging the file that you export into a new Pro Tools SE session and let me know if it sounds quieter (with the track and master faders at 0.0dB). This will help to narrow down the problem.

Hi,
I know this was a while back but did the original question get answered? I switched from a M-Audio Fastrack Pro to a Mackie 1620i and I'm having the same problem? Thanks Mike |
