Sluggish responsiveness with PTLE 7.3 - it's SLOW

Is it just me, or does Pro Tools LE 7.3 have performance issues? I mean, I love the new features, but whenever I use this version, it seems very sluggish, not terribly responsive. For instance, when I'm playing a sequence and hit the space bar to stop playback, the thing hangs for several seconds and the VU meters in the mix window stay lit up until it "resets" and is ready to go again. This never used to happen to me with 7.1 (or any previous version of Pro Tools dating back to where I started with it, at 6.4).

I know I don't have the fastest machine in the world (dual 2.4 Xeons processors, 2 GB of RAM), but I never experienced this sluggishness with Pro Tools before version 7.3.

Do I need to just roll back to 7.1 until I buy a new machine? Or am I missing some settings that may fix this problem? (I thought I had already optimized the system before, as best I could.)

Hey my Centrino Pentium M 2.0 with 1 gig of ram does 45 d-verbs in the d-verb test. How's that for bad? ;]

I'm experiencing a similar problem. Although I just went from an MBox2 to a Digi 002 and though maybe that was why. The MBox2 didn't do this with 7.3 though. Actually, 7.3 seemed to run a little better than 7.1 with the Mbox2. I haven't reinstalled PT since getting the 002 though so that could explain my problem.

Anyone else?
