Several menu items suddenly greyed out

Hi, all - I've been looking and can't find any ideas as to why this is happening:

Pro Tools Studio - 2022.7
Mac OS Monterey 10.14.6

Suddenly, most menu items are greyed out (including Bounce Mix, Save, Save As, Import, Export, , etc). I have trashed all preferences. I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

With new preferences, if I start a new session, the items appear. Within that same launch, if I open a previous session, the menu items disappear again. Again, in that same launch, and even after restarting, even a NEW session will not have those menu items available. So something is happening at the system level, but can't figure what it could be, and certainly don't want to have to trash all my preferences every time I need to work.

I'm at a loss and can't figure what would have changed (I have been working on this configuration for many years, of course, upgrading to the Pro Tools Studio when the moved to different Tier structure).

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Grayed out features are usually a sign that the software version is not authorized properly. Is your installation sync’d up with your AVID account?

That's what I was thinking, too. So, yes - I have checked that I'm logged into my iLok manager and "SIGNED IN" to ProTools specifically. I have tried signing out and back in (while ProTools is open).

Is there something else I should be doing to make sure the AVID account is "connected"?

I'm also having this issue on a regular basis... super irritating and seemingly random. Logging in and out of Avid has no effect. Have to quit & restart to fix it.

have you ever resolved this? starting to have this issue as well. a major time killer esp in front of bands and execs.

There was a similar issue with an out of date plugin causing this! Might be worth trying with all third party plugins removed from the folder then re-boot and let the plugin cache rebuild and see if it happens.

For me i think its sonarworks system wide being on. Iv been working in 2022.x for a month now and today is the first iv seen greyed out stuff. I quite system wide and its all back to normal. not 100% bit pretty sure...
