Just speculating but possibly their decision to announce Virtual Microphone System today and build up some buzz before NAMM resulted in them pushing back the (although important for us, probably comparatively less significant for their business) VTM AAX64 release ... and the 'brownie points' they could get for this would be wasted as VMS takes everyone's attention.

I imagine he's pretty busy right now but Steven usually posts updates on Gearslutz ... most of us will have read him justifying delays because quality cannot be sacrificed, etc. but one can't deny that he's usually happy to 'face the music' and engage users, occasionally also on DUC.

They'll deliver. Maybe not today, but it'll happen. I bought VCC last week, knowing it wasn't AAX yet. But I have faith Slate will follow their timeline closely.

Slate delivering to the schedule, sorry but this cracks me up. I wonder how Slate manages to keep such a relatively untarnished profile. If Waves or even Avid were as flexible with the truth and timelines as our man Slate, they would cop a total bashing with nobody willing to defend them. Must be the perfect teeth and winning smile.....

And that thick, luxurious hair.

Pardon me, I'm off to yell at a pot of water until it boils.

maybe he's using the Virtual Hair Technology or "Slate VHT"... coming in February to AAX format.

NB. actual AAX release date is a Virtual Release Date or "Slate VRD"

I should learn not to check the DUC at work, people are now wondering why I was laughing.

Responses reminiscent of some of those here are the reason Avid and so many others refrain from publicly predicting release dates on products. We all feel the Slate contributions to AAX are slow in coming, but hopefully we'll see this one before NAMM , this is one of the craziest weeks in the industry, I vote we give them at least a 3 day break.

See, that's what I was trying to say!... well said. I got dummies flying at me right left and centre though... after people spat them out defending Mr. Slate and his.. ahem... team.

I agree totally with your comment. I got a reply from the "Slate team" regarding the "newsletter" and was told that the dates Steven gave were only estimates.. So, why didn't he SAY that? instead of "VTM is January 20th"

I think people should "man up" to these companies and pull them up about things like that otherwise, how will they improve?

Instead people are like... "yes Mr Slate, No Mr. Slate, I'm sorry Mr. Slate, Mr Slate... I love you"

Pah... rant two over!...

Happy music making guys n gals

Man up and do what.. Complain about it not coming sooner? I guess I'm a dummy because I'm patient.
