Default Beat Detective and the playhead

Here's my scenario: I have a 8 bar clip selected for example and I'm going through and adding some extra trigger points and deleting others. I'd like to be able to keep the clip selected so I can still see the trigger points but I want it to play from wherever at in the timeline my latest edit is. Thought that I have done in this past but I'm forgetting how. TIA

Unlink Timeline and Edit Selection?

I had tried that and it hadn't worked. Went back and tried again and figured it out. The trick is after the clip is selected to make sure you are clicking on the timeline. If you click elsewhere it deselects the clip. Thanks for your help!

IIRC, with Timeline and Edit Selection unlinked, you click in the Timeline and choose your Play selection/area there - with the Blue Arrows. Then you can edit anywhere in Tracks, but when you Play, it plays the Timeline selection. Haven't used this in a long time, just going from Memory.

See page 629 in the PT Reference Manual.
