Top Jimmy, thanks for responding. Tried that one too. It's set to automatic.

This has been so frustrating. But very much appreciate the feedback

Something just hit me:
Does the computer have USB3 ports? iLoks have a known allergy to working with them. The usual remedy is to have a powered USB2 hub between the iLok & computer.

Hey everyone, back to this nasty bug!

I remember that I ended up updating *everything* in order to fix that, not quite sure what did the trick but I've updated the BIOS and chipset drivers on my machine besides the usual Windows/iLok/PT updates.

I see that you're on a "closed" machine made by Dell, so it's worth checking out their website for those updates. Sometimes they roll a BIOS update along with new chipset drivers but there's hardly any publicity so often it slips by. I'm on a "open" machine that I've built myself, so in my case a trip to the motherboard manufacturer's website resulted in those updates.

One more thing to try if possible is a USB hub.

Hope it helps!

Still Stuck!

I tried updating my system including BIOS from Dell and I tried plugging my iLok into a USB hub

This is crazy. Open to any other suggestions

Thx

Move all your licenses off the iLok and then put them back on.

Try a different iLok.

Get a support case going at iLok.com.

Top Jimmy,

I cleared my iLok and reinstalled all my licenses but that didn't work. When I talked to iLok, they told me to contact the software company. (Avid)

You think I should buy a new iLok?

This problem use to only happen for a couple plugins when I loaded a session but now it will pop up when I try to load certain plugins. Mostly happens on the following:
D-verb, Trim, Mod-delayIII, PT EQ1 and EQ7, click and a couple others.

All native PT plugins. Following the iLok error message I get popup from PT saying close to, "The following plugins were made inactive due to insufficient resources"

How does a problem like this just... appear!? Never had this issue before

That's not an iLok issue. If they were made inactive for insufficient resources, that means your current computer doesn't have the muscle to run all of the plugins in the session that you're trying to open.

My computer should be fine. It's a Dell Precision m6700.
It's got 8GB of ram with an i7-3740. CPU 2.70GHz

And I don't run anything but Pro Tools on it. These errors are coming up on big or small sessions. It's been happening on a 2-track acoustic song with just a handful of plugins. Just don't get it.

Can you Dropbox a link to just one of your session files? I'd like to try and open it to see what happens. Just the .ptx file, no media files needed.

Top Jimmy, sorry for the delay. I was out of town.

Here's a link to a session file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/yibf87v4r7...20Dos.ptx?dl=0
This is a big session where a bunch of plugins were made inactive. As I said, I get the iLok error message that started this thread for each plugin made inactive, then I get the PT error message of all the plugins that won't work afterwards. (pictured here)

Also, if I'm in a session and try to load D-verb and other various plugins like stock eq, it will give me another error message and gray it out. So weird! And once in a while it doesn't happen at all but 90 percent of the time it does.

Let me know what you think
