Trouble removing silence at end of song in a session.

I am trying to compile a CD for a client and I have always been able to cut the silence at the end of a song so there will be only the 2 second silence between tracks. I have repeatedly tried to cut the silence at the end of the song and I have selected just the song and pasted it to a new session and that silence (40 sec.) is still there when I bounce to disc. This gives a big gap between tracks when I burn the CD.

Any ideas why I can't cut this silence?

Instead of exporting the whole session use the selection tool to define the exact length you want. Hidden tracks count too when exporting whole sessions, the selection overrides that.
