Default Pro Tools 10 Reverb Plug-ins (Recommendations)

Well the OP didn’t say anything about UAD

My Goto’s are

Lexicon PCM
UAD Lexicon 224
Avid Revibe

But there are cheaper options that sound really good as well.

TL Space and Reverb 1 are prime examples, and if that 7th Heaven is good sounding it’s another option

This^

I was looking into the Space reverb, but it seems to be $499. That’s a little much right now. It sounds great though! I saw that the Valhalla Vintage Verb is $49, which is reasonable. I may look into that if the SoundToys Little Plate doesn’t give me the sound I’m going for. Thank you!

Would you have any tips on which settings to use for the SoundToys Little Plate plug-in to make it sound distant/dark? I was playing around with the settings by turning the Low Cut knob all the way left. I think it still has a “tin” sound to it that I just need a little darker. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am considering the SoundToys EchoBoy Jr. and SIE-Q plug-ins. Does anybody have feedback on those? I am also considering the Waves CLA-2A compressor plug-in. Does anybody mix rap vocals using only this compressor with good results?

I don't have it but I've used (and maybe abused with usually -10dB of GR) CLA-3A on rap lead vocals and everybody seems to be in love with the results.
About Sie-Q, I think it is a good and very unique eq that I used to use to increase the clarity on vocals and instruments and only recently its been replaced by RZ062. Not on a rap song but this video can give you a good idea of what to expect: https://youtu.be/cnopXhFWxNk

Awesome, thanks for the example. Do you think it’s possible to have a quality sound using only SIE-Q and the CLA-2A compressor on a rap vocal? I noticed both plug-ins have a gain option. What’s the best practice on which plug-in to use for gain? I figured if I used gain on both, it would sound too loud/distorted.
