Default M-Audio Fast Track C600 - new interface

This popped up about a month ago, and now there's detailed info on this UK retailer site. It's a budget priced interface, but the design and features are very interesting. I don't know why it's not mentioned yet on the M-Audio site. It could be a good harbinger at how interesting a new 004 might be:

There's also the C400, which is slightly smaller and less channels.

It seems these are meant for PT MP9 as well, since Sweetwater is listing a C400 + MP9 bundle for $400. Wow! Might be time to retire my problematic Mbox 2.

These are like the worst-kept secret ever. Sweetwater's listing for the C400 ($250) and the C400+MP9 bundle ($400) are both gone. Just release them already so I can replace my Mbox 2!

Very interesting on several levels. Personally I'd love to see an 8x8 Analog/ADAT In - 8x8 Analog/ADAT OUT / MIDI / Clock / 2 Headphones / Internal DSP / on Firewire for under $600.

I love my Saffire Pro / Presonus / and other 1U interfaces that are doing everything except for the onboard dsp cue send - that would be nice in some situations.

I don't know about $600 but the Motu 828mk3 and TC Studio Konnekt 48 aren't a million miles away.

A friend and I had done some recording earlier this year and he has the TC studio konnekt 48 and it is a really nice interface. I really like the 1 rack space design and having the additional 8 analog inputs is great as he has a lot of vintage microphone preamps.

I finally gave up waiting for M-Audio to release these things so I went with a FT Pro + MP9 bundle to replace my Mbox 2. I was hoping for a shiny new C400 bundle. I am flat-out amazed how much quieter the mic pres are than the Mbox 2. I was hoping for "comparable" but I came out with "superior". I'm sure the new 3rd gen Mboxes sound even better, but money's short and times are hard.

Can the C400 work with the Avid Artist Control and Artist Mix?
