Default Who's got best pitch shift technique?

Hi all,

I need to pitch shift a whole project down a semitone, something i don't normally have to do.

most of it is midi which is a blessing but what techniques are people using to get the best results for pitch shifting with audio?

My research led me to audiosuite/pitch shift but on bass for example, it sounds truly awful. I played with the accuracy slider for sound vs rhythm and both options are equally dire (artefacts/crackles etc)

what gives?

thanks so much

Vito.

The last time I tried, resampling up to 96k and then using Waves SoundShifter won. It's so old I'd almost overlooked it! Zplane has gotten good reviews and is worth trying.

For a half-step, Elastic Audio usually works good enough. Serato Pitch 'n Time Pro is best(my opinion) and Waves Soundshifter is a close second. Elastic is free, but the other 2 are available for demo

Melodyne 4 no doubt as the new version can change multiple tracks, not just one at a time Super useful and we use that a few times on every session to make sure the artist has the best sounding backtrack,
