Any word on deals for Anthology owners, like with previous native versions? I haven't seen anything about that. Anyway, the deal is pretty good already...

You are right. This in the FAQ:

Q: Is there a cross grade available for current owners of Eventide Plug-Ins?A: Due to the overwhelming response to our UltraChannel we decided to simply offer cross grade pricing to everyone. We really appreciate the kind words and feedback you've given.

So, I will have to keep buying the plugins I already own all over again... I have spent a lot already on anthology 1, 2 and now native...

How does this compare to some of the other algorithm reverbs out there, like Phoenix or Lexicon, etc..?

On par with Lexicon PCM, but with a twist. This is one of the best reverb plugins ever

I think it is best suited for more dramatic/magic reverbs as opposed to super realistic recreations of spaces. An effect. A cool effect. Plus, with all the extra sections, you can really tailor the result. Go play!
