It's true for the Mac installer too. The currently downloadable installer from Kush includes the DSP version for Mac as part of the install.

Interesting about the installer still including the DSP version. It’s no longer advertised and hasn’t been for a long time.

I bought UBK-1 when it was first released years ago and Greg was going to go DSP for all his plugins and then as we know, things changed.

I think it’s cool that he still leaves the DSP version in the installer. The code is done so it’s not like he’s losing money. Weird that he doesn’t advertise that though.

As an aside, it’s a fantastic plugin. One of a kind IMHO.

I believe you are correct, meaning the AAX version is still 1.2.1 and it gets repackaged with other VST and/AU updates. AU and VST on Mac about says 1.2.6.

Not sure where your friend got this impression, but the fees that a developer must pay to create and market an AAX DSP plug-in are, and always have been zero. The AAX Toolkit is available for free at http://developer.avid.com and Avid is ready to assist through our support forum, year-round events and on-site help sessions. While there’s no fee to create the product, developers need access to Pro Tools|HDX or Avid|VENUE systems and a qualified CPU in order to rigorously develop and test AAX DSP software. Developers can sell their products independently (for which Avid charges no fee) or through Avid Marketplace (where we share revenue based on the types of co-promotion, special sales events, and other factors). AAX DSP is far from dead; it’s the basis for our flagship audio production and live sound systems, has a large and growing user base, and offers developers the chance to offer differentiated versions of their products to upgrading and new customers.
