Default Can pro tools 12.7 HD see NAS mounts on Windows

Hi guys, I am just wondering if pro tools can see network mounts on Windows? Or is this an impossibility and I am talking about something from a Synology not an avid certified everything.

Cheers,

Justin

Cant say 100%, but see absolutely no reason why not.

Any idea how I would do it? I have the drive mounted as SMB but doesn't show up in workspace

100% trouble free since ProTools 10, before it was kinda messy.

ProTools like Media Composer needs to have a valid volume mounted using a letter, not UNC, have you mapped the SMB volume with a valid letter?

Cheers.

Well it's mapped as the A drive? Is that what you mean?

A: is probably not going to work. A: and B: were reserved for Floppies. Try another letter.

Try Z or Y, as The Weed said A and B are reserved by the OS for diskette units, check the following.

Indeed^^^ Never use A: or B: and all will be good. On a side note, go into BIOS and see if it shows a Floppy drive that is enabled(whether one exists, or not). If you see one that is enabled in BIOS, disable it(this doesn't happen much these days, but its worth a look if you are not having good performance)
