Re: headphone monitoring set-ups
DOD makes a cheap stereo in and 6 stereo out headphone amp. Street price $150 or so I think. Set up aux sends out two analog outputs into headphone amp input.

Rolls (I think) makes one too.
I saw it @ Guitar Center. Seemed like a cool idea. |

Re: headphone monitoring set-ups
I have the Rolls unit. It works fine. It has 6 inputs and you can send either mono or stereo signal. Also has outputs on it.
I send a stereo aux mix to outputs 7 & 8 on the 001 over to the headphone distro and it works great! Gremz |

headphone monitoring set-ups
what do you guys recommend for running multiple headphones off of the digi? i've looked around a bit and haven't found much in the way of running a bunch of headphones for monitoring during recording. is there a "splitter" box i can get that plugs into the headphone jack on the digi that has multiple headphone ins for everyone to plug into. is this a simple device that radio shack carries or does it involve something more complex? thanks again, vince v

"Behringer" as a new one, and also
"StageLine PPA-1" and also "Music and More HP48" // Joakim W ------------------ >>We need more time so that everything doesn't happen at once<<

Re: headphone monitoring set-ups
I would like to monitor my vocal recording with some reverb to help me sing but I don't want to print the reverb. Any suggestions? Would one of these headphone preamps do the trick. I don't have a mixer. I just want to just the Digi and a headphone mixer if necessary.

Re: headphone monitoring set-ups
There are several way of accomplishing that, even without the use of an external headphone amplifier (unless you are several persons needing listening at the same time).
Regarding Reverb. No Reverb is ever printed to the audio file unless you route a reverberated signal as an input for an audio track. If you use a send, group fader or an insert using reverb (for monitor listening), and record on the audio track, the signal will be recorded dry. However, you might want to set it up so you can control the listening level of the channel being recorded independently of the recording level of the same. To do that you can either use the send knobs (for traditional headphone mixing) or just make suer you have an AUX Input track online for listening purposes. Tweak that channel so the listener is happy (using sends/returns or inserts). Then you can apply the same input in the break-out box on an audio track for recording purposes (you might want to mute that track for listeners while recording). You could also just listen on the audio track directly (loosing some benefits as decribed above), or if you want effects to be printed, you could set the output of your AUX IN fader to a bus and the input of an audio track to the same bus. Try doing some experimenting on this. The mixer is very configurable and can be applied in many ways. //Joakim W ------------------ >>We need more time so that everything doesn't happen at once<<
