Incompatible EuCon version message with 3.7 and Logic Pro 10.3.2 on Mac OS 10.12.6
Hi, I'm new to the community, so please pardon me if there is a post I missed on this. I've been using Eucon 3.6 with my Artist Mix and Logic Pro and updated to EuCon 3.7 about 3 weeks ago. Ever since, I get the message 'Incompatible EuCon Version'. Current EuCon version: 4.0.3 build 138, Minimum EuCon build: 65,916. I get the message on both Mac OS 10.12.6 and on a newer instance of Mac OS High Sierra, which I'm testing with.
When I open EuCon, under Preferences, it lists the software as EuControl 3.7.0 138 built on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 22:06. I recall reading a post somewhere in the process about an issue with versioning/numbering/whatever-it-was, but I unfortunately did not save the reference. #dangme So... I thought I'd ping this forum to see if anyone else has perhaps conquered this matter already, or at least has some extra info...? I can launch Logic Pro without EuCon, but I'm unable to get it to work successfully. I did attempt quite a number of uninstall/reinstall efforts including cleaning up preference files via a cleanEuphonixSystem script, but to no avail. Is there an updated version I'm missing? Is there a fix or workaround, other than reverting to 3.6? Would stronger coffee be required? Thanks very much in advance. |

Re: Incompatible EuCon version message with 3.7 and Logic Pro 10.3.2 on Mac OS 10.12.
...and now that I post this, I finally see related posts. :P
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=394478 http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=391693 The cleanup I mentioned is the same cleanup mentioned in this second post reference. Didn't get rid of the pop-up message. I can go ahead and run Logic, by the way, WITH EuCon, but it behaves very erratically if I do this. Usually it crashes as soon as I hit play. #extrainfo |

The message is bogus and already fixed by Apple in a forthcoming release, it has no bearing on operation.

So does this mean I should be able to use 3.7 successfully anyway in the meantime, but I'll have to click away the message 'Launch With EuCon' every time I open Logic until this forthcoming release comes out? I presume you mean a forthcoming release of Mac OS? Or do you mean Logic?

Correct, just click through and launch. It will be an update to logic.

Thanks very much. I'll keep the eyes open for the update. Looks like it may have only been a project or two that were causing the crashes I refer to. Guess I'll have to work through those projects a piece at a time.
Much appreciated. |

I could be a particular plugin...

Re: Incompatible EuCon version message with 3.7 and Logic Pro 10.3.2 on Mac OS 10.12.
if it were a plugin (in general), would it be a good enough test to go through and disable all the plugins on that project and then re-enable one at a time basically? I mean, if it were an issue with the plugin, would it generally show up as a problem at all if the plugin were turned off? Even if the plugin were still in place, it shouldn't make a call to the controller in any way, so that sounds like a test plan to me - disable all, then re-enable one at a time.

Worth a try..if you find out I can then test here and try and fix.

Thanks. If I come across anything concrete, I'll be sure to post it. I appreciate it.
