it just disappears right b4 the start up

I'm working on five songs now and none of them will open.

I get the plugins loaded then it gets the audio tracks loaded and right before it should open the session everything just disappeaars and shows my desktop.

i am using version 8 and this never happened in 7.3.1

can another share some wisdom on this matter? thx in advance.

This happened to me once caused by a corrupted N.I. demo plugin. I decided I could live without it. It seems plugs need to be pure, clean, and up to date.

well how did you open the session to remove it?.
someone said on another thread to hold down shift while opening.
will that work?

I removed it from the plugins folder in C> program files> common files> digidesign> dae> plugins. I hope i remembered this correctly. Maybe someone can confirm.

You can always copy the contents of your plugins file to a temp file on your desktop and see if PT will load without the plugins.

i am thinking that waves 4.0 is the problem .

maybe they aint compatible with version 8 software?

but boy i really need them plugs.im so used to them

Waves 4 should not have worked with 7.3! Mine quit when I went to 7.0.

i had no problem with 7.3.1 with waves 4.0 just now im having problems.

well at least i think thats the problem.

i wont know untill i move the plugs out of pro tools dae file like they stated

why didnt it shut down the session right when i opened the wave plugin.?

it let me work on the mix for a few hours and waits until i try reopening it to start having problems.lol
