Default CPU overload error occured...

I am constantly getting an error message pop up in my Pro Tools sessions. It says "A CPU overload error occured" (-6101). I've tried to increase & decrease the H/W Buffer Size in the Playback Engine Dialog & have tried recording & playback while using no plug-ins. Can someone please help me or give any suggestions? Thanks in advance
