Mbox Pro Pro Tools 10 Bundle to Mac Book Pro Connect
Hi. OK, I'm new to Apple and Avid, but wanted to move to computer based recording. Considering going back to hard disk.
Issue: Pro Tools does not seem to recognize Mbox 1. Bought new Mac BookPro with Thunderbolt inputs. 2. Bought bundled MboxPro and ProTools (10 apparently). 3. Loaded Pro Tools software via iLok. 4. No disk with Mbox, so eventually loaded four drivers at avid.com for Mbox. 5. I can see controller for Mbox on computer (although I thought control was supposed to be integrated into ProTools 10). 6. MboxPro comes with Firewire 800. 7. Can't connect directly to Macbook. 8. Bought a FW800 adapter to Thunderbolt. 9. The two male cable that came with Mbox wont fit into Apple FW800 female. 10. Used short thumb drive type adapter - inserted FW800 male into recepter and then smaller end does fit into Apple adapter. Plugged into TB port. 11. Mbox goes on fine, controller is fine, but no hardware found. So, back to issue. Do I need to tell computer something more, or is this a hardware issue? Hope not, because otherwise the two brand new systems are incompatible... Thanks. |
