Pro Tools files turning into unix on firewire ??
I backed up a bunch of files on my new Lacie firewire drive, and they became greyed out unix files.
also other files like jpegs also did this, but not all of them. It seems klike a random thing, as some of my pro tools files were normal. Any one know whats up ? Also I have suddenly been having a lot of crashs, which I never used to have. Is there a utylities CD that can help ? Thanks Ray 001 Mac dual 1.0 OS 10.3.5 2 ata 80 gb hd 1 SCSI 50 gb hd 1 Lacie 160 gb external hd |

Re: Pro Tools files turning into unix on firewire ??
This is what happens when you save mac files with "resource forks" to a fat32 (windows/dos) formatted drive. Fat32 doesn't support the mac resource forks. Do you still have the originals? If so, just reformat the new drive with Disk Utility and select the type as Mac OS (Journaled) format and then re-save the files to the newly formatted drive.
