question re. time expansion tool issues
I recorded drums and guitars for one of our bands songs....but want to speed it up by about 20bpm's. (125 to 145) i use the time expansion tool..set it to the desired setting and it convert it.
after i convert it, i begin playing it back. it sounds fine for 20-30 seconds, but then starts acting funny. im not sure the best way to explain it, but im getting almost a doubling effect. all the tracks will be playing, and ill start getting extra snare hits, kick hits, etc...but when i mute and/or solo each track to pinpoint the problem...each one sounds ok. its only when its all the tracks together that it sounds funny. like some sort of delay. almost sounds like the original and converted tracks are somehow playing together. anyone else experience this or know what im doing wrong?? thanks in advance!! Re: question re. time expansion tool issues
Well, I'll take a stab. Did you make all the tracks into a group, then time compress the group?

Re: question re. time expansion tool issues
Do you have any of the original tracks hidden?

Re: question re. time expansion tool issues
One way to avoid this would be to bounce the entire mix to disc and then time compress the stereo track, as opposed to compressing the entire original session.

Re: question re. time expansion tool issues
i originally converted them as a group...but then went back and did each track seperately. i completely removed the original regions to make sure they werent causing the issue.
it still happens...and i have narrowed it down to the kick drum track being a fraction of a second off. the bleed in all the other tracks pick up the kick drum at the correct time...its just the one track. i dont understand how that can be because the original tracks are fine. the kick track starts and ends in the same spot as all the other tracks...so it didnt somehow get off the beat. |
