Default REQUEST: Clip graphic overlay with TC/E Tool

Love the clip graphic overlay in 12.3! Makes editing easier. But now I'm getting greedy and want it when using the TC/E Tool too.

But first fix TCE because it definitely is broken since 12! Sounds really bad, lots of artifacts. Compared it on the same clip with PT11 and 12 and the difference is HUGE! 11 is smooth, 12 sounds like crap.

Meads, check your preferences!

There is an interesting engineering challenge. All the third-party TCE algorithms will result in slightly different waveforms, so the only way for Avid to do this is with an approximation of what the waveform would look like during the stretch. Still worth it though, especially for matching waveforms by eye.

I usually just activate elastic audio then use the tool which then i can see the resulting waveform change in real time. then when done switch to x-form and commit., listen, and if not right try another algorithm but usually x-form is the one that works for me the best most natural sounding.. speaking mostly for lining up background vocals here..

anyway works for me.

Check for what? TCE is selected. But it now sounds as bad as the time shift algorithm.

Go to prefs, under Processing, look for the TC/E plug-in pop-up. Then choose Serato PnT or Avid X-Form (those are my favorites, I think you have to buy them both). Then open the Audiosuite version, get settings that you like, and save them as a preset. Then go back to prefs and choose your setting under "Default Settings."

Serato PnT "V" algorithm sounds stupendous on dialog and vocals and brass instruments. "A" for everything else except percussion, which should be "B." Sometimes guitars on "B."

Hey, thanks for getting back. I know all that already though.
I'm doing lots of dialogue editing for foreign language dubs, and therefor this tool is of tremendous importance to me.
I took all those algorithms through their paces, and nothing was able to touch the TCE for my needs. I own Serato PnT Pro, and it does an okay job as stretching tool, but it's not as good as TCE (used to be).

Why has it been altered? For the worse?!
Could anyone from Avid chime in on this, please?
