Mbox 2 Pro vs Digi002 in Guitar recording

Hi,

My local digi reseller advice me to take Mbox 2 Pro as I'm creating plugin based music and I'd like to record guitars as well to enchance my arrangements. So, do you think he adviced me wrong when he suggested that Mbox 2 Pro would suit my needs and I don't need Digi002?

The bottom line: What is the difference in quality when recording guitars with digi 002 or Mbox 2 Pro? Do you think I should upgrade my Mbox 2 to digi002 in terms of recording "radio quality" guitars. I have NI Guitar Rig 2 plugin to boost my guitar recordings though.

Pro Tools is Pro Tools, the only difference with the interfaces is how many inputs you need and portability. The 002 just replaces the mouse more than anything and allows more simaltaneous inputs, is my understanding, so if you need to be more mobile, think M-Box, if you need more inputs then a 002 will have more.

You can always bypass the internal mic-pre's if you don't like the sound. If you're only recording 2-3 inputs (mic's, guitars) then stick with the M-box and save your money. If you want to do more in the future (again, record more than two or three inputs at a time) then go 002.
