Default Phasing

Why would you click on this on the plug-ins? What applications would you use phasing for? It does sound like it enlarges the mix a bit when I do it on certain plugs but not understanding it I would like to know the pros and cons.

Thanks

Default Re: Phasing

This is very useful for correcting masking issues when mixing. Also can be useful to flip phase to help 'hear' when time aligning (due to latency) stereo / multiple miced instruments (ie. drums).

Phasing is nothing new and can be one of the biggest challenges for an audio engineer. Most amplifiers have a reverse polarity switch for this purpose. There are thousands of articles avalable online if you'd like to understand the science behing phasing.

Hope this helps...
