Default SSD HDD decisions

I want to basically have access to using my hdd from my home studio when I'm at whichever studio I go to. So, I should clone that HDD and just boot from it at the studio. But, should I use my SSD as the bootable Drive, or should I run my sessions off of the SSD, then backup to a larger HDD at the end. What makes most sense? I would prefer to use only 2 drives, but it looks like 3 might be a good option (1 to boot, 1 to work, 1 to backup). I think it will make more of a difference to work from my SSD and boot from an HDD. Is there a benefit in doing it the other way around?

SSD for boot/applications
1 HD for working sessions (WD Black label or RE4)
1+ HD for backup (WD Green label)

If your using VIs that have a lot of samples you should consider a separate drive for them (SSD works well here also)

If I understand you right, it's more beneficial to boot and run my apps from the SSD than to write my working sessions onto it? The reason I would think the opposite is because my SSD will be more reliable at reading and writing multi-tracks.

SSDs are more expensive per GB then traditional spinners and they do have a limited life span of writes (and if your recording what are you doing? writing files)

SSD as the system drive most people experience a over all boost in performance in both booting up and opening applications
