Goombot,
What codec and BM hardware do you use?

Mecderue,
I haven't. I've stoped trying new drivers when I learnt BM doesn't support my BM hardware with drivers newer than 9.x I believe it was.

Hi

I use:
OS X 10.11 El Capitan
Blackmagic SDI 4K
Blackmagic Desktop Video 10.6.7 (10.8.1 is not playing Video)
Blackmagic Video Hub
Blackmagic SDI to HDMI converter at Beamer End
PT HD 12.6.1
HDX-Cards in Sonnet Xmac Pro Server
DAD AX32 Interface
TMC-1 Remote Control
Besides Sync Drift, everything runs OK.

I also have a Rosendahl Nanosync House Clock i could use to genlock Picture, not sure how this could help...

Greetings from Switzerland

Thomas

Hi mecderue,

you can solve sync drift, when genlock Decklink and Pro Tools. But you have to have a Sync HD to do this.

Best
Maik

Yes, on PC, Win10, PT12.7 HD. Sync drift was at least as bad (I'd say even worse) than 10.8.4. Several frames of difference on every playback, totally random.
Back to 10.4.3, which is stable for sync, but has more errors and doesn`t seem to like Eucon too much.

I run one PT 12.6.1 HDX, BM Intensity Extreme on El Capitan 10.11, BM Desktop Video 10.6.7, having sync drift. 10.8 Versions so far don't work (no Video Playback.
Another PT 12.6.1 HDX, BM Intensity Extreme on Yoesemite, using Desktop Video 10.4.3, as mentioned in several posts. No sync Drift, AVE is stable.
Downgrading OS to Yosemity in Order to run 10.4.3 would be a big project for me
Thanks for letting me know.

Well how about that, the major sync drift starting with Decklink driver 10.5.0 is finally solved using driver version 10.9.7.
Tested on multiple rigs.

I can finally get rid of the 10.4.3 driver causing so many video engine errors.

My faith in Blackmagic Design has gone way up, from -none at all- to -slightly higher than none at all-. Still a long way to go, but for now my video is stable and sync, without genlock even.

Funny, I just installed 10.9.7 today and saw an immediate improvement in sync drift. As in...I didn't see any. How refreshing! Long-term stability still to be determined, of course...

WoW Thank you for the info. I will test and leave my comment here.

We do use genlock, but I can disable in one room for test purposes.

Thanks

Anyone else concurs on this (BM driver 10.9.7 no more sync drift issues, as well as better video engine error handling...)? Seems like very good news to me. I'll try to do some testing on a couple rigs as well.

Yes. Over a month with the new driver and no video issues.
