Default I want to try Strike before I buy it.

What is the best way to play with this thing before I shell out $300?

You can not. Though there should be MP3's to audition.

The library is a too big for a casual downloading for a demo, Or at least thats my guess.

The mp3s are good as far as describing included the sounds go and there are lots of videos about Strike here on Digidesign.com and at the AIR Users blog, Also of course on YouTube.

Most drum programs sound pretty good. The deciding factor is probably whether or not the plug fits your work flow or composing methods.

Of all the various drum sample library, software I have worked with, Strike just is not easy to work with. Sounds ok, at best, not worth the money they ask, but if you just own Structure, makes sense to upgrade to the new bundle.

My opinion is different Strike (original, I didn't touch the PTIEP version yet) is the only one I feel "natural" and easy to use.
