Temporary Preamp Question
I am setting up a new HD rig. I have the 192I/O but I have not got a preamp yet. I have a short voice over I need to record tomorrow, but I have a Mackie 1620 for onlocation work. Can I just go out from the record out serial port on the Mackie into the inputs on the 192 and just use the Mackie as the preamp till I get a Avalon?
Or could I run any preamp with optical out to the 192 and that work? |

Re: Temporary Preamp Question
I would definately recommend going analog out of the mackie, as you want to use the 192's converters, not the built in mackie ones (because it had to convert to go to lightpipe.) You will get a better sound that way.
