PT/DAE memory settings?
I have 160meg memory in my 9500/G3. I'm having troubles to find the most preferred memory settings between PT and DAE. I know 160megs isn't that much but I naturally would like to get the best out of it. I have D24, old farm and a mixfarm in my 9500/350.
thanks. |

Re: PT/DAE memory settings?
For Pro Tools 5, I recommend the following Preferred memory settings:
DAE: 50MB Pro Tools: 40MB If you are running Waves then you should increase DAE another 10-20MB. Otherwise, these settings should be fine for most situations. Lastly, never change the Minimum memory size. If you have, you can set it back to the default setting by typing a 0 into the field and press Enter on the numerical keypad. Brent |

Re: PT/DAE memory settings?
My system (9500/150, OS 8.6) has 128 megs of RAM and I can't seem to squeeze 50 for DAE and 40 for PT without the Finder quiting or some other message that implies I've removed too much RAM from the OS. Is there a way (a setting) to minimize the amount of RAM for the OS so I can dedicate more to DAE/PT?
Thanks. |
