Default Feature Request: Support More Control Surfaces

Dear Digidesign staff,

I've a feature request for ProTools LE:
1. Please support more control surfaces in ProTools LE, namely, please official support HUI mode and please add support for Mackie Control Universal.

HUI mode is essential to me, but why it's dropped in ProTools LE 6.9? Mackie Control Universal support is even better, as HUI is outdated and replaced by MCU for many years. Well, MCU has its edge (say a scrub wheel) that a Command|8 lacks. C|8 is not a bad product, but we need a choice for different features on control surfaces.

Hmm, PT 6.9 works with Mackie and any other controller using HUI mode. I am using a Mackie controller right now and used a Tascam US2400 with no problems at all.
What problems are you having?

Eric

I'm using PTLE 6.4 currently, HUI mode does work, but it is not officially supported, as I've to copy those DLLs from the "Unsupported Controller" folder. From the version 6.9 download section, I found that HUI mode is again not officially supported. Moreover, HUI is a bit outdated, as the original HUI control surface is not available anymore, why not support Mackie Control protocol?

I'm asking for a feature that make users have a choice on control surfaces.

I agree I have digi002r and it keeps dropping the connection in 6.9 and it tried to add the mackie hui controller for 6.4 and will not recognize. I will add the my midisport back and see if it works that way instead of through 002rack midi.

HUI does have Official Support in 6.9.

The following control surfaces are qualified for use with Digi 002 systems with Pro Tools LE version 6.9 software for Windows XP:

* Control|24
* Command|8
* CM Labs MotorMix™
* Mackie Designs HUI™

I use a MotorMix and it works flawlessly.

Man, I think the price on the Icon just needs to come down a little and we would be all set... Those are some sweet looking boards!

Wasn't there an update to get control-surfaces working properly?

(I use a Behringer BCF2000 with baby hui protocol and selected hui in ptle and it all works like a charm)

(Running ptle 6.4cs9/digi001 with a freshly downloaded unsupported controllers folder)
