Default Why the Database folder?

I'm still experiencing the growing pains of PT6.4 on OSX. My newest discovery is the database folder that appears on every drive on the system. If I have a session open on one firewire drive, and I try to dis-mount another, PT will not let me do it unless I quit the app. Does a session really use the databases on ALL the mounted drives? Is there a workaround for this?

Open the Workspace window, highlight the drive you want to unmount, the click and hold the icon that looks like a little toolbox... you'll see the menu option to unmount the drive there.

The concept is that everything that you do on your desktop should be done through the Workspace Browser. Treat the workspace Brouser as your desktop. This way, any changes you make, PT will be able to follow along and be aware of what you are doing. (Like when you want to copy a project from one drive to another) If you do it from the Desktop, PT has no way of knowing what's going on. Do it from the Workspace and PT updates the Disk Allocation automatically. Avoids those nasty surprises.
