I'll be sure to look at that soon. I know it'll help my workflow. I'll be sure to do it before the next project.

OK this is still happening. I went through the entire list of the optimization guide and I'm still getting the -9073 error. This is weird because sometimes it will happen and sometimes it won't and I don't know what the factor is.

Well the most fundamental question is still what IO buffer size are you using? Did you find the setting in the driver control panel? (this is different than the hardware bufffer setting you can set inside the Axe-FX).

And 4th post into this thread i had questions about your disk layout. Can you now answer that question.

And exactly trouble shooting have you done? Have you trashed prefs and have you removed all third party plugins (actually remove them from both Pro Tools plugin folders not just not use them) and tested with that? New empty sessions? What happened? What are your current playback engine settings?

"I've done everything" type answers tell us almost nothing.

Playback Engine Dialogue

Host Processors: 3 (of 4)
CPU Usage Limit: 85%
Host Enginer: Ignore Errors (Unchecked)
Minimize Additional I/O Latency (Unchecked)
Delay Compensation Engine: Long
-----------------------------------------------------

I trashed prefs.
I updated then later disabled my Network card.
Updated graphics drivers.
Went into RegEdit and unchecked what programs I didn't want booted at startup.
Adjusted hard drive to not "compress to save space"
Adjusted Root Hub devices in my Device manager to not shut off to save power.
No screen saver.

The buffer settings are at 2048. Seems large enough to be able to handle what I'm doing.

My disk layout: C:\ holds both the OS and audio files. There is no partition made on this drive. Also when I did have the audio files seperate from the OS drive it was still doing this.

Set % CPU to 99% as I mentioned before.

Again you *have* to get you audio/sessions onto a proper dedicated audio/spec drive. Then you can troubleshoot from there.

And interesting troubleshooting would start with...

Ah compressed files,... I hope none of the audio content you are using is compressed.

Test with a new empty session.

Then test by temporarily removing all third party plugin files (from both the RTAS and AAX folders) - doing that is described many times on DUC. You can search for it.

I'm scared to do this. If my plug ins are the problem then I'm screwed.
