Default Convert session from 44.1 to 48 k ?

Hi, i have to mix the song of a friend recorded with mbox 2 mini in 24 bit/44.1 k format.
He want the final mix in 24 bit/48 k format, im not sure what is best to get the better quality since im really not a pro.

- Use the Save copy in ... command to convert the session in 24 bit/48 k
- Mix the song in 24 bit/44.1 k and just bounce to disk in 24 bit/48 k
- Mix and Bounce in the original format to have no quality loss.

Thanks

number of ways to do this but here's what I think is one of the easiest / best ones :

- Create new session at 48/24
- import session data from the 44.1/24 session and convert / copy on import

clean hassle-less way to create separate folders where you keep things separated from each other.

Hopefully not. But worrying about nitpicking the nth degree of how this might sound is silly, use you ears - can you hear any difference? there are many things involved in recording and mixing that will make a huge amount more difference than a 44.1 vs 48 kHz sample rate. And also silly if the client/friend can't be bothered to record at 48kHz to start with.

The benefit of up-converting before you start mixing (vs. up-converting when you bounce to disk) is that mix and plugin processing happens at this higher clock rate and should produce less artifacts. At least that is the idea.
