Also, opening my own composition session (nearly all VIs) gives the same black window but for a much shorter amount of time. Maybe it's something to do with authorization of Komplete, because for instance if i open absynth for the first time, it's got the 'Register' window open. Maybe I'll have to make sure i've used them all once and see if it changes.
hi weezul, i will take a look at this in a bit .. downloading and installing the new Sierra Beta 4 .. just came out today ..

cheers john

Hey, thanks for taking the time to check. I really appreciate it! I tried upgrading to the public beta 3, but it put my hackintosh in a boot loop, so sticking with what I have for now. If I leave it for a couple of minutes, it does manage to recover. It may well have something to do with my RAM, maybe using the Kontakt RAM manager thing will give pro tools some breathing room.

Thanks again

Erm no, will not work for Apogee Symphony I/O MK1, meanwhile I handed this over to Apple as Apogee doesn't do anything about it.
Fingers crossed, maybe I am lucky.

Hi everyone,
Well I updated to Sierra today. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Well now I can't find my HDX in playback engine. No HD I/O either. I thought this OS would be functional with PT HD by now. IDK maybe it is. Anyways, uh any ideas internet peeps? Anyone still have this issue? I say that work around from a few pages back on this thread, but wasn't that for the Beta version of this OS?
Thank you

Turn of "System Integrity Protection" as suggested by someone or, as I did, use the 12.5.2 driver. Running HDX2 fine here (Sierra/12.6HD) like that.

On an second partition I have Sierra installed, but after turning off "System Integrity Protection", Sierra won't start... eeh well I get the desktop in sight for a short moment and then it gives me the black screen and reboots again... it kind off stays in this loop forever and ever...

Back to my first partition (Yosemite) and everything is fine... I'll try another day.

Sounds scary! As I said, I didn't use that method, I simply uninstalled the 12.6 driver and reinstalled the 12.5.2 driver and that's been working fine with 12.6 since then.

Good luck,
Pete

1st off thanks Mr Gates your scripting is right on.
2ndly This humor thread is a fresh hoot.

3rd as we get back to brass tacks; My attempt-test failed in Sierra. (HDX driver 12.6 and 12.5.2)
I will say I did not go too deeply as this was a test drive.

back to OS10.11 and HD12.6 mostly works.
1. HUI partially works (Transport no faders) and
2. automation (Following) copy/duplicate fails unless the lanes of automation are visible.
(5.1 panning in this example)

Mac OS 10.9.x may be my next stop.
At Some-point my Backup drives may out number my work drives.
