Default Re: Live recording Question 002R

Please advise on how to divide the stereo bounces into individual CD tracks ...

"If you're mixing the entire performance, it's much easier to divide a stereo file into individual CD tracks than dividing the session into separate sessions for each song"

Also, track to more than one format at once (e.g., out dig to an ADAT or Mackie HD24)
True, but it's better to split at analog domain, because once you have that power problem, your digitals go out as well.
ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP even if its only a 2trk DAT or something, or buy a HD rig they are much more stable.
if you can garantee your power with good UPS so your clock is garanteed then splitting in digital should be safe and has the advantage of being sample accurate should you need to use part of the backup. when you can garantee the power splitting ADAT makes life alot easier then worrying about analogue splits but you should not use sends from pro tools as your slits. get a trie online UPS if you can afford it or at least a line interavctive UPS, the cheep backup UPSs wont do the job.

I do one session, multiple files. Then afterwards, I go song by song and create new sessions.. Just erase all but the one song per, move it to the top, and save as... (don't copy all audio Files).... The you have one session per song. Much easier than copying all over the place
