Default macOS 11.6.2?

macOS 11.6.2 update is out. Has any tried it yet? 11.6.1 has been flawless.

After reading your experience with MacOS 12.1, I'm scared to try any of these new OS updates. I have a few projects going on so don't want to screw things up. I need to free up an extra drive to do the testing.

12.1 seems to have fixed the memory leak problem, but too early to say that it is confirmed yet.

I'm referring to off the wall's post that his Apple Mac's firmware got trashed by the upgrade to MacOS 12.1:

Apparently firmware is now trashed. Following the directions at that URL now that involve tethering to another mac running Apple Configurator 2.
Hopefully it got sorted. Anyone else have some experience to share with MacOS 12.1 (positive or negative)?

Neutral.

Some of the memory leaks are gone, but Safari is still a disaster.

Apple over phone and at Genius bar could not revive the MBP. It had to be sent out (5-7 days) for repair. Unbelievable that a software update could brick at brand new computer.

Ouch. I'm gonna stay at MacOS 11.6.1 for now and wait for more feedback about 11.6.2 before upgrading.

As for MacOS 12.0, memory leaks and not supported for Protools (no go)
As for MacOS 12.1, your bricked MBP is a warning. Yikes! (no go)

I did get brave enough to install 11.6.2 on my 5,1. Did a 4 hour mix today, no issues at all.

All good with 2021.12 on 12.1 on an M1Pro. Except for the Soundgrid and plugs included in PT all works as expected. It's got more than enough horsepower to run the SGS plugs native on what I'm doing.

Default Re: macOS 11.6.2?

Back to the original topic i can confirm that PT 2021.12 is running well on my Macbook Air M1 with MacOs 11.6.2. All Plugins from AViD, Air Music, Softube, Ik Multimedia, Brainworks, Avid Complete Bundle running smooth. Startuptime could be a little faster - but thats maybe because of running through the Rosetta2 layer.

Best for all

And before i foget : RIP Pro Tools First :-(
