Help exporting single midi clip from multitrack
Let's say I have a session with 4 midi tracks: piano, bass, pad and drums but I only need to export the bass track so I can edit it with an external application. Is there a way to do that? Thanks!

Re: Help exporting single midi clip from multitrack
Do you want to edit it as MIDI or audio? If audio I'd render it to a new audio track and export that. You should be able to export single tracks.

Hi musicman, I forgot to specify that I want to export it as midi. Thank you!

Re: Help exporting single midi clip from multitrack
You should still be able to export a single MIDI track. I know PT's MIDI implementation isn't the greatest but I'm curious - what other program are you going to edit it in?

Re: Help exporting single midi clip from multitrack
I don't see the relevance of that, Ableton Live 9. I know I could export the entire multitrack session and delete the midi information I don't need but also I should be able to export only the clips of my choice. Could you imagine how much trouble would it be if this was a 48 midi tracks session?

Select the midi clip and choose Export in clips bin menu.

Impossible, all the Export options are greyed out on Vanilla, don't know about HD

Are you looking in the clip bin (used to be called region bin) menu? |

Re: Help exporting single midi clip from multitrack
I did exactly as you describe provided that the clip bin menu is the one that pops up from the right
