Massey Plugins requesting update, but they are updated.

So, I am on Pro tools 10.3.8. I have rarely ever seen the window that pops up during launch from Massey that reads, "Massey Plugins Demos Your Massey Demos are rotten and smelly. Do you want a minty fresh version?" until recently. The last couple weeks I get that window every single time I launch Pro Tools 10. I have gone to the website and installed the latest versions for both AAX and RTAS and I still get this window popping up.

I thought it might just be me, but the school I teach at which is also at 10.3.8 is also getting this window every single time Pro Tools launches.

Anybody else seeing this? I'm trying to do a little bit of research on it before contacting Massey.

Me too.
I thought it was because I recently dug up an old massey rtas package called Massey Tools (or similar). I found the .dpm on an old backup with PT8 or 9, and popped it in, now on 10.3.10. I wanted to use the Notes plugin. Now I get the message you describe. I thought the tools thing was free. Only other massey PI I have is the L2007 limiter. It might be L2007, not the tools, or both, I have yet to investigate.

I assume you are talking about the installation wizard that you download for AAX plug-ins from Massey. Yes I did. I've installed both plug-in packages you can download from the link where it says you can get the fresh plugins.

I would just like to not update without a reason. And not have annoying dialogueboxes pop up.
I'll remove the masseytools thing and hopefully they'll go away.

If I remember correctly, the "old and smelly" warning is suppose to mean that there is a new installer wizard available. I would do load he latest wizard and let it do its thing. If you still get the warning, then something else is going on.

Well, I have a protools-only boot partition w/osx10.6.8 and PT10 that I want to keep the way it is. It is solid.

I just fired it up and checked the plugins folder. Saw a file called Massey Demos.dpm.
I removed it, deleted the DAE prefs (to rebuild plugins database), launched PT,and, no dialogue box!


I don't really know what those demos were, actually. They shurely didn't show up in the manufacturers menu under "Massey".
