Default Upcoming Trilian update...

Sonic State has a video showing an upcoming update to Trilian (1.3) that has some new features.. Sustain2 will add x a million the realism of it.. I'm stoked!

In his demo he's sliding down as well as up... a trick I've yet to figure out.. (can anyone enlighten me? )..

Additional samples, and (if you also own Omnisphere), the VIP pack!

Best of all.. You get to control Omnisphere from your iPhone (and here a few months ago we were joking)..

Anyways, here's the link... (and don't mind the nod to Logic towards the end.. )

Peace!

Thanks for the link Danny

Heck I've been mixing so many records as of late I've only played with Trillian twice(once in PT & once in VEPro) & only actually used it once

iPhone control has been available for a while now, but it isn't much more than a gimmick. It would never be used in the studio. Maybe during a live show, but it's very limited in functionality.

The other stuff is intriguing.

The sustain 2 is very clever, solves lots of midi editing of note lengths after the fact.

Who would have guessed that an app named "Omni Live" is intended to be used when you're playing live? . Seriously though, what started out as an experiment turned into something genuinely useful. Imagine when you're on stage and your computer is not, and you want to call up that patch named "Strings for the verse". You just look at your iphone and touch the button with that name on it.

So you're on stage... You have the iPhone app... but no computer... and without a computer Omnisphere is running on what exactly?

It was a very easy app to write, so it was written - I get that - but come on now! If I were music director and my keyboard player told me that he planned on using an iPhone to switch patches I'd be looking for another keyboard player immediately.

It's free so I'm not complainin' -- just sayin'.

However I'm still looking forward to the other features.

Actually, it's fairly common to have a stage rig where a computer and mouse are not immediately accessible while playing your keyboard. Having a small, handheld, wireless, portable device that allows you to select patches by name with a touch of your finger can be quite useful.

Sheesh! A fellows got to be careful around here doesn't he?

I mentioned the iPhone app for a bit of levity.. regardless of your iphone app stance, both Trilian and Omni are world-class.. and these new features will do nothing but improve upon that.. A first-rate effort from a great company.

As far as iPhone goes.. I doubt I would ever use it live or anywhere else.. but then again, I'm a drummer.. maybe I should get a TD-20 setup and try it....

Peace!
