Amazing Feat with NI Kontakt Free Player

I recently installed the NI license center or whatever they call it now on my rMBP for the free Phasis plugin and it brought up my old Slate Drums (v3.5) and Bosendorfer VIs I had years ago asking to install my libraries for these. I actually had both backed up on a 4Tb hard drive attached to my Mac. The old installers didn’t like MacOS Sierra, but I was able to open the installer packages and just use the library installers. Now both libraries show up in PT 12.8.2 using Kontakt 5 Player and actually still sound fine after all these years and the full 16 layer instruments of the Bosendorfer 290 play effortlessly on a modern i7 Mac. I’mma old horder and this goes to show never throw anything away.

PS. The Bosendorfer 290 DVD was damaged after losing and then finding it a year or two ago. I took it to an old record shop in town where the cat had a CD resurfacing gizmo, he charged me $5 to clean it up. I immediately extracted an ISO to the above mentioned hard drive.

It includes "Available updates" and "Installed products" as well as "Not installed", plus you can "Add a serial" - or (as mentioned) "ADD LIBRARY"

So I downloaded Native Access and updated a few things and added some new ones (of the freebies for now). I have to say, this may be the easiest installation system I've ever come across. AIR needs to replicate this type of system! This is exactly what they need!

NI has a created a great system for auth and D/L. Native Access was shaky just last year, but they have got it ironed out pretty well. I do wish I could store a license on an iLok or other USB key, but I've never had a problem being able to activate my NI products.
