Pulled the trigger on a demo S1

I don't have it yet, it's in shipping, but really looking forward to figuring it out. I used to have a Factory 003. I thought I wouldn't miss tactile faders, but the mouse if for the birds!

It looks pretty straight forward... I take it connects to my iMac via the ethernet port? Hopefully there isn't any latency between fader movement and PT... Wonder why they didn't go USB or TB?

Great to hear you are getting an S1, you will love it. Ethernet does not have worse latency then USB and is far more flexible. The largest EuControl system (4 x S1 + Dock and 5 Tablets) is 10 connections, a dual Operator S6 can be up to 94 connections so you can see why we went with Ethernet ;-)

Thanks! Can't wait, it's arriving today! I have EuControl working with my iphone... That's pretty slick. Now I guess i have to get a tablet.

You should try Avid Control Desktop too (once you get the S1)

So my S1 arrived today. I purchased it from an authorized re-seller (as they sell new units too) and was assured the system was cleared of any previous registrations, however, I cannot register the S1 with Avid.

I get "Sorry, the code you provided is invalid. Please check for typos and try again, paying particular attention to characters that may look similar (such an "8" and a "B")."

Aside from contacting the dealer (which I did) is there anything else that can be done, or do I have a brick until this gets sorted out? Dang, I hate getting a new toy and not being able to play with it!

I can help. Firstly, you don't need to register it to use it. All you need is EuControl and I think you said you had that already.
To get a faster warranty repair if ever needed you do need to register. If the dealer already registered it you would need to do a transfer of ownership. I can help with that too.

Wow, thank you Eddie. Yes the dealer is on the Avid Resllers List. Yes, I have EuControl, which works very well with my IOS. The dealer sold it as a b-stock demo. It still even has all the plastic protective stuff on it... smells new too.
