This seems basic, but I'm stummped.
In attempt to apply an AS effect to snare track, I can't figure how to make a duplicate of that track, rename it, and apply the effect to the newer track. Everything I've tried renames to old track also and if apply the effect, I'm assuming it will effect the old one as well, which I don't want to do. My workaround was to duplicate the file and move the old version to a different drive and then apply the effect to the new file in the session. How is this simple operation supposed to be done? Thanks! |

First off AS creates a new file, it doesn't obliterate the original. The easiest way to do this is to create a duplicate playlist. Then process the audio on the duplicate. It will leave the original alone and you can a/b by switching the playlists back and forth. Once processed you can rename the AS'd audio file whatever you want without affecting the original.
