Default Offline bounce is going so slowly

Hi everyone,

I'm doing some offline bouncing to disk. I only have about 10 tracks, and I'm trying to bounce to MP3 format. I have 3-4 plugs on each channel; dialogue noise reduction, compression. My offline bounce speed is only 3-4x real time. I wonder why it's so slow? I think I'm using Izotope Dialogue De-noiser and Audionamix Dialogue noise cleaner. Maybe these types of processes slow down the bouncing?

Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ! Some plugins processing slow down the offline bounce and i give you an example. When i use the Universal Audio BX V2 on mastering, offline bounce goes about 3.x and when i used the same plugin but native from Plugin Alliance bounce goes about 15.x , thats huge difference.

Hmmm. Very interesting. I am using a UAudio plugin. Let me see if removing it helps. Thanks for the possible solution!

Overall, I've experienced slower-than-normal offline bounce since 2019.6.

Using UAD will slow down because the process goes between your computer and the DSP chips in your Satellite or Apollo millions of time during the bounce down. I mainly use Logic and it's the same thing. The second there's a UAD plugin somewhere in the project, bouncing takes a lot more time. It's explained somewhere in the manual.

On the next pass, I deactivated the aux track that had the UA plugin on it, but nothing changed in the speed of the bounce. It was about 3x normal.

Same here unfortunately

UAD goes not give @ sh*** on optimazing their plugins for pro tools - certainly on purpose so they can have Luna working faster.

Too bad they have good reverbs like the 480 + Capitol Chambers otherwise i would have sold my satellite righ away.

Sigh.. badly behaving plugins is not PT problem. You need to post on the vendors' forums. But with that said, if you recognize that one certain plugin is a problem, commit to the track and problem is solved. Just do not use those rogue plugins on master fader, because there is no workaround.

This^^^ or freeze any tracks with those plugins, but I also recommend un-freezing immediately after you finish the bounce, because SOMETIMES, track freeze can be a double-edged sword and I don't trust it nearly as much as I trust both Track Commit, and the option to Commit up to This Insert(which I use a lot).

You are right but, i never use a reverb as direct inserts - sometimes a compressor and of course EQ's but i do not have any problems with those.
It's just as soon as you start using UAD plugin suddenly latency is streatching time as a black hole.

What i could do is "freeze" that reverb by recording it as audio.
I landed here after a research regarding offline bounce.
I had my answer.
UAD won't do a thing about it but yes you are right again : when i 'll feel it i'll post a thing someday on their forum
